"That is JUST ABOUT ENOUGH!!"
Yes, that was something my neighbor said to me one July 4 when I had some friends over while we were in college and our bottle rockets were flying anything but straight and were doing weird ass whirlygig routines and a few landed near him while he was underneath his RV doing some repairs.

Of course, I totally understood his anger, esp. given the totally bizarre trajectories our rockets were taking, and so I told my friends that we need to stop (I liked all my neighbors very much, so didn't want to upset any of them, and he happened to be also a member of my church so we knew each other well).

But, one of my equally creative and scientific friends pointed out "He only said that was just about enough - we still have room to play, until he says it IS enough."

I had to agree with his logic, but we took our fireworks elsewhere anyway.

(Another neighbor, in the opposite direction and also a fellow church member, told me a few years later that he was very close to calling the cops that night. I have never, ever had that awful an experience with bottle rockets going every direction but straight and up as that night).

1. When I was in college, my brother brought a roman candle to my dormroom
There were 2 dorm towers in the building...one for men, one for women, and the one-story cafeteria was beteen them. My room looked across to the men's tower. Across the courtyard from the dorms was a building that had all the practice rooms in it.

When we set off the candle, the practice rooms got quiet, and the guys across the way stopped their studying to watch the show.
There was one security guard who was not pleased, apparently. But he couldn't figure out where the fireworks were coming from.
