Poll question: Worst musical film:
If your choice isn't listed (for example, I had to leave off the dreadful "Xanadu,") please reply with your choice.

70. That wasn't really a musical, was it?
Lots of music in it, but if I remember correctly there wasn't a whole lot of actual singing by anyone other than Olivia Newton John.

aside: god I loved her in that movie, but I was like 8 when it came out. I'll bet if I saw it again I would not think it was as good as it is in my memory.

That movie is a classic, if only for the pure balls it took to conceive of such a thing.

completely at random to drop. So far it looks like I should have kept Xanadu as one of the choices. Damn this software.

I must admit to having watched Xanadu as I have seen every Gene Kelly movie ever made, but even his presence couldn't make that abortion viewable.

unwatchable, at least from that standpoint. I love The Tubes; I saw them live around that same time.

25. I saw them at Dooley's in Tempe, Arizona in 1980. It's a large bar near
the Arizona State University campus. By the time I saw them, Re (the only woman in the group, I believe) had already quit. But they were still great in concert. I waited in line and got to be in the very front row. This was right after their "Remote Control" album came out. They passed out a survey as you went in, and you voted for what songs you wanted to hear, and at certain points during the concert they played the top 5 vote getters, from 5 to 1. They also played a lot of songs from "Remote Control" as well as their usual standards (White Punks on Dope, Don't Touch Me There, What Do You Want From Life, etc.) but it was a no-frills concert without all the handing out of gifts and elaborate stage antics. It was a lot of fun though.

but the sgt. pepper movie fell and fell hard. that american idol movie? please, everyone knew how awful that would be, and paint your wagon is obviously bad but that's what happens when you ask clint eastwood and lee marvin to sing.

they took one of the best things that modern music has to offer and took turns shitting and puking all over it.
