Your favorite Looney Tunes/Merrie Melodies Moment
Edited on Fri Dec-19-03 11:42 PM by SilasSoule
My top 3 are:

3. When Daffy turned the tables on Elmer Fudd with the Wabbit Season, Duck Season trap. In my opinion an all time comedy classic that ranks right up there with Abbot & Costello's "Who's on first".

2. That moment right after Yosemite tells Bugs that if he thows a match into that explosive filled ompartment below the deck for the third time that he aint going down to get the match again. The beads of cold anxious sweat on Sam's forehead with those worrysome eyes while he's playing jacks and is a classic.

1. Daffy on stage doing a magic show routine and in his attempt to jump the ring of fire - gets instanly burned to a crisp.

4. Yes the send up of Wagner's Ring trilogy.
Killed myself laughing and found myself liking it better than the opera.

7. Robin Hood... and
The first half of the Robin Hood parody, with Daffy and Porky, has been a favorite of mine ever since it caused me to laugh my Saturday morning breakfast through my nose. From the "trip-de-trip-de-trip" to the "buck-and-a-quarter-quarterstaff" to wide-eyed Porky doing his ROFLMAO routine, all quite funny. :)

Daffy and Bugs have been chased into a hole by Elmer the hunter. Bugs convinces Daffy to peek up and see if the coast is clear. Daffy, of course, gets a face full of buckshot. Bugs tries to get Daffy to look again, but Daffy says, "no more for me, thanks. I'm driving." He flaps his fingers around as he says this. That finger flapping, for reasons not altogether clear to me, is one of the funniest moments in Looney Tunes, IMO.

12. That singing frog
"hello ma' baby, hello ma' honey, hello ma' ragtime gal, send me a kiss by wire, baby ma' heart's on fire..."

There's something mythic about that fellow. He's down, he's up, he's been a god and a beast. I admire that in a frog.

13. Foghorn Leghorn teaching the Chickenhawk to hunt the dog....
Telling the little bird that the dog was actually a chicken. Also the one where Foghorn is trying to teach the young braniac chicken various things (the little chick was wearing thick, pointdexter glasses) and the little chick sciences everything out.

Also, the eternal, whimsical positivism and self love expressed by Pepe LePew (sp?)

And the Frog that sings.
Found in the box by the construction worker.
"Hello muh baby, hello muh honey, hello muh ragtime gal!"
Too funny

15. "Duck Amuck"
Enter Daffy in Musketeer garb:

"Stand back, Musketeers! They shall sample MY blade! Ho! Ho ho! Ha! Ho...ho...ha? Musketeers? My blade?"
Daffy's voice fades out as the scene changes from a castle to a farm.

Daffy vs. the animator, who turned out to be Bugs.

My favorite one of all time.

23. Here's Sylvester's best
He has been unsuccessfully trying to cross the yard full of dogs to get at Tweety through the whole cartoon. He finally gets the bright idea to paint a white stripe down his back, and when he opens the gate and strolls in the dogs all head for the hills. All that's left for him to do is shinny up the pole and grab the skinny bird, when, from out of nowhere, Pepe le Pew appears and locks Sylvester in his love embrace.

Hm, who would have thought that Pepe was a switch-hitter?

25. Yosemite Sam
The one where Bugs would go into a weird dance when he was
over gold in the ground, then Sam started digging but
this was on a cliff overhang which broke off and was falling
down, then Sam dug through the underside of this falling
piece of ground and stuck his head out upside down and said,
"Great horny-toads, I dug clean through to Chinee"!!!

29. My favorites...
1. "You can't shoot a fricasseein' rabbit without a fricasseein' rabbit license."

2. In "Victory Through Hare Power," there was a sign at the entrance to the base:

Location of base: Censored
Number of planes: Censored
Number of men: Censored
What men think of top sergeant: CENSORED!"

3. All seven minutes plus of "Rabbit of Seville"

4. The bulldog who adopted the kitten.

5. Marvin the Martian pulling troops to find Bugs Bunny out of a huge gumball machine labeled "10,000 Instant Martians--Just Add Water."

6. Wile E. Coyote ordering war materiel from Acme: drop the order in the mailbox then stand there and wait for it to arrive.

7. "Why We Eat Roadrunners."
