Help HK govt. prosecute mag that printed hidden-camera semi-nude pics
Jackie Chan was among the celebrities marching in protest of what happened to Gillian Chung, a member of the popular Hong Kong duo, "Twins". She was secretly photographed in a dressing room, nearly naked, and the photos were accepted for publication by a magazine called Easyfinder. Gillian appeared on TV, upset and crying, because the magazine had also claimed that she was eagerly showing her body to people backstage. Twins are popular among young teen girls, and the duo has a wholesome image, which makes this invasion of privacy even more distressing to them.

But this is only the latest in a long line of female Asian pop stars being exploited. Hong Kong actress Carina Lau was kidnapped, and videotaped as she was gang-raped. She was also photographed by her attackers, and one photo of her, topless and visibly distressed, was published in a magazine. The video of the rape was sold in VCD form, on the streets of HK. More on this 2002 story here:

That magazine was shut down. And now, the Hong Kong government needs 10,000 complaints to take action against Easyfinder--and it doesn't matter what country the complaints are from. All you have to do is download and print a one-page form, fill it in, scan it, and e-mail it to the address given. If you don't have a scanner, you can just put the info in your e-mail, as plain text.

This post details what happened to Gillian, and other Asian pop stars who have been exploited:

This is the Yahoo story telling about Jackie Chan and the protest march:

Finally, here's where you can find links to the form, and the e-mail address to send it to:
http://www.nana-nana.net/index.html

When sending an e-mail, make the subject "Easyfinder Issue 761 - Gillian Chung".

Every signature is needed, not just to protect celebrities, but also ordinary Asian women from having their privacy violated in this way.

Please help--thank you!

2. I don't normally do this
But I'm kicking this post to see if it will catch anyone's attention at a busier time of day. This is a really important issue for anyone concerned about women's rights around the world.
