Overheard a coworker on the phone
"...and then I tried to say, 'not now, sweetie, Daddy's working.' 'But I wanna work too!'"

Ahhh, the joys of being the parent of a toddler.

1. Out of the mouth of BabyG,"I hate your job, why can't you get a job
that lets you not work so you can play with me??" I have the best job a mom could have. I'm at home, I can schedule my appts around the kids...and it's not enough.

3. I know of what you speak.
I work from home. All. The. Time. On the third floor in a nice little office, so I am always available to give rides back and forth, hand out money, make lunch.

She still says she wishes I didn't work. Never mind that my salary is going to pay for a vacation place and her college.

The two younger ones seem to think I don't work because I am always home. Go figure.

2. we sat in front of adorable toddlers
at the ballgame yesterday, while dad explained the lines on the field, how "we don't like the Dodgers" and what the teams were doing. I love those toddler questions. So sweet.

4. I work from home, and my toddler rarely wants to have anything
to do with me. I dance, I sing, make funny faces, but I'm never as good as Choo-Choo Thomas or plastic dinosaurs or puddles or whatever.

UNTIL...I sit down at the computer and try to get something done. Then he's all over me like a bad rash.

5. Mine is
currently playing on the pooter (computer). A Blue's Clues game. And she wanted to check her e-mail too. Yeah, toddlers are a blast. I love when I call home from work and she wants to talk to me. Her dad puts her on the phone and out comes a flood of words, 1 out of 5 of which I can understand, but all she wants you to do is say "oh" or "that's good". My collegues get a kick out of it too.

6. a coworker's wife called so I handed the phone to him
then I was appalled how he spoked to her, like she was a little f***ing kid. I did not know she had handed the phone immediately to their three-year old. :o
