I have 2 new pair of running shoes!!!!

Same exact shoe, two different colors. I always buy my running shoes 2 pair at a time, and then alternate wearing them. I love these shoes. They're illegal in the Olympics and in the Boston Marathon, but I doubt I'll ever qualify for those events. When you finish in the bottom 3, nobody questions what shoes you're wearing. They're illegal because of the spring technology.

I got $50 off EACH PAIR, so buying two on sale was only slightly more expensive than buying one pair at regular price. Now THAT'S what I call a sale!

Next week I see the foot doctor so I can be fitted for a custom made orthotic to alleviate the bunion pain I feel when I do a long run.

1. Spring technology? Interesting!
What kind of benefits do you get out of them? What kind of mileage are you running?

I'm just curious, as a fairly new runner myself--I managed to run 6 miles two nights ago and am still feeling proud, that was a big mental milestone for me as I'm hoping to run a 10k in a month. I'm stil as slow as molassas in December but at least I'm building stamina!

5. Believe it or not, they have a tag which advises you to take them off

at airport screening. Apparently the coil can set off metal detectors, so they need to go on the x-ray belt.

But I rarely fly, so this really isn't an issue.

8. Cool!
It's always exciting to get new running shoes. Why is spring technology illegal? Unfair advantage? Anyway, they look comfy! :hi:

10. Isn't it supposed to 2 new pairs?
One pair is two shoes. Two pairs is four.

13. I'm so jealous!
They look very comfy and cushiony. I'm so pissed I can't run anymore...I dream about it every once in a while, but my legs are messed up somehow.

I love buying new running shoes though, I think alot of people it's like Carrie Bradshaw and her Manolos.
