Poll question: What DVD should I watch?
Beat, the story of William S. Burroughs and his wife.

Cecil B. Demented, John Waters' homage to Patty Hearst and rant against mainstream cinema.

Apocalypse Now

2. I didn't get it towed until today, because my stepdad wanted to talk
to the mechanic. So I don't know yet.

5. I'd watch "Beat"
even though I'm overly familiar with the story (isn't everyone?).

I find most John Waters after Polyester more flaccid than a Hollywood loaf, but others have more refined tastes than I. Even I prize the line "No peepin' in the Pelt Room, Pecker!"

Apocalypse now I love. But have seen it so many times now.

11. Well, Beat is just ending so that sounds like a plan.
The funny thing about Beat is that Courtney Love plays Burroughs' hard-drinking, benzedrine poppin' wife and she looks far more put together and sober than I've ever seen her be.

12. Wouldn't that be ironic?
She stays sober to play a drunk, drug addicted character?

13. Cecil B Demented was just sad to see. Anything but that.
Watching that was kinda like visiting Grandpa
in "the home" and listening to him ramble about
how he used to make 'shocking, cutting-edge' films
back in the day.
Ten minutes in, you just want him to finish his soup
so you can get the hell out of there.
