1. Indeed it does.
I'd volunteer, but then I'd forget I had done so and not show up.

3. Indeed.
I was going through my quote books tonight... so many good tidbits, I really ought to collect them into a website or some such. Years worth of quotes I thought were worth writing down. That one seemed lounge-appropriate, though :)

10. Two books full, even!
Alright, then. Chosen at random:

Some things you miss because they're so tiny you overlook them. But some things you don't see because they're so huge. -Robert M. Pirsig

Be the change you want to see in the world. -Mahatma Gandhi

To be nobody but yourself, in a world which is doing its best, night and day, to make you everybody else, means to fight the hardest battle that any human being can fight - and never stop fighting. -e.e.cummmings

I love you, what a lie
but not a lie told to me
I'm just not their type
What's wrong with me
are my clothes too tight, too strange,
my hair too green, my smile too real
Do I not flirt enough, or too much
Am I childish, must I pretend to be ready to die
Do I laugh too much at the slightest things, cry at the same
I talk about my dreams as if they were realities, so what
I light too many candles, play too many games
There's too many me's with too many names
I try to be myself, but where has that gotten me!
Alone and wondering why
I mustn't give up hope though
Someday I'll reach the sky

-Emily Nichols

Life is a teacher in the art of relinquishment. -Socrates

But wanting don't make a thing true. You don't have to live forever to figure that out. -Robert Penn Warren

There are chapters in every life which are seldom read, and certainly not aloud. -Carol Shields

31. "You can wrap it up in fancy foil, and put a label on it that says it's
"Saucisson a la Bolougnese," but when you get it home and unwrap it, it's just plain old baloney after all."

Hope you'll add that to your collection.

8. Glad to hear it!
Up is good! :)

I'm decent, just started up a new semester yesterday, two classes this round, means re-arranging work hours, etc. And, our daughter starts school officially tomorrow, at a Montessori, which I'm thrilled about. So all in all, life is good! :bounce:

11. Mostly it *is* the good kind
I miss the "me" time I don't really have, during the semester, but I'm getting so close to finishing my degrees!

She's wicked excited about school... and that makes me excited, you know? :)

17. Did you know,
That those of us who worked in the space program in Houston and lived in League City, drove home on Egret Bay Boulevard every day?

Yes, it was full of egrets....

but every once in a while, we also saw spooned billed ibis.

Thanks for bringing back that memory.

:hi:

glad to oblige :)

I've seen spoonbills. At the San Diego Wild Animal Park. Wonderful, wonderful birds.

(I know, animals in captivity . . . at least at SDWAP they get the best care of any captive animals anywhere in the world.)
