5. I'm not sure how one goes about

picking the absolute best. In most cases their work is so dissimilar that a decent comparison is impossible.

One of my absolute favorites, who isn't on your list because she's not taken nearly as seriously as she should be is Allison Janney. So far she's really only known for her role on West Wing...but stay tuned.
