What's for dinner?
Field greens with tomato and avocado, then penne with Sicilian olive and caper sauce here at the House of Prog. :9

What are you having?

1. Grazing
Starting with artichoke-spinach hummus, which is quite yummy.

It's also rehearsal night for the rock band, and we have developed a tradition of going out for ice cream after practice.

5. Some TVP sloppy joes
I sucessfully managed to turn TVP into food for the first time, which is kinda lame on account of having been vegan for pushing half a decade now.

I usually make them with boca crumbles, which cost more money but are more convenient.

For chili and spaghetti sauce and whatnot. Does it taste like actual sloppy joes? Care to post your recipe?

15. I got some of that free when I went up to Farm Sanctuary
I guess Fantastic donated some inventory that was getting a bit close to expiration, because they had a big table of boxes of sloppy joe mix and onion dip packets they were giving away to visitors. Eating that was what made me think I could probably make some myself.

Lots of tomato sauce and spices to make it seem like actual food.

I've noticed the leftovers are better, since they soak up the sauce flavor in the fridge overnight.

20. Did you start with dry TVP and soak it?
I put spices in the water so they
absorb flavor right from the start;
it makes a noticable difference.

Hmmm...now I'm gettin' hungry for sloppy joes!

I think because I was out of garlic. Normally I'd put a little garlic in there, and food tastes funny without it. I got some at the store today.

There are some New Englanders who will not eat chowder the day it's made.

(By the way, clams are not necessary; corn chowder is an excellent meal.)

hence the "homemade" instead of homemade.

All of the food there is really good. If you're ever in Denville, NJ for some odd reason, I recommend a little Italian restaurant called "Attilio's Kitchen." Joe Pesci even eats there (his cousin owns it).
