Poll question: Do you love Benny? Or do you prefer Monty?
Does it seem to you that people are fans of either Benny Hill or Monty Python, but not both? It seems that way to me.

I love Monty Python, but I don't care much at all for Benny Hill. I think that they're both silly, but Monty is funny, whereas Benny just, well, isn't. My brother is the exact opposite, therefore my hypothesis must be true.

Which do you prefer, or do you like both equally well?

1. But... you and I get along great ( I think) and I am a fan of Benny Hill
I like him slightly more than Monty Python...

So...

I think that might shoot a hole or two in your hypothesis. :hi:

15. You know, I feel like I hardly know you anymore.
We disagree on Benny Hill, and the Three Stooges. You're just not the same MrsG I knew and loved before.

21. No...but MrG LOVES the Three Stooges, and I married him anyway.
So I must be able to regain some credibility back.

2. I love Python but am able to appreciate Hill
Some of his stuff was actually good, in particular the songs he would sing.

And I still can not find fault with a show where very attractive women run around scantily clad to the tune of "yackity sax". I may not know art but I know what I like.

14. Naked girls and saxophones. That's all you ever think about, isn't it?
Harrumph.

5. You know you're drunk when you start thinking
Benny Hill is funny.

Monty Python, on the other hand... well, all I can say is that my hovercraft is full of eels.

7. Both!!

Much as I can appreciate both cerebral, understated humor as well as 'Get Smart' and 'Hee Haw'.

They appeal to different parts of the brain, at least for me. (Benny's camera takes and unapologetic cornballishness appeal to the 'Hee Haw' fan in me.)

The only humor I totally do not get is Three Stooges.

On edit: And Ron White. (:hi: Bunny!)

10. Richardo!!!
We were born to get along. I'm with you on everything you mentioned...including the 3 stooges. MrG once forced me to sit through a 3-D festival of "Three Stooges" and the Movie "House of Wax". I almost never forgave him for it! :hi:

13. Ron White - heh heh.

At first I thought he was so funny, then I thought he totally sucked. Then I saw another one of his specials recently, and it wasn't that bad. Pretty weird, huh?

I 'get' the Hee-Haw kind of silly that Benny does, and I do have an appreciation for it to some extent, it's just that I will actually laugh out loud at Hee Haw, and Benny barely gives me a chuckle. Anyway, here's a Hee Haw-style SAAAA-LUUUUUTE to Benny:

On the other hand, I am quite possibly the only female on earth who enjoys the Three Stooges - I can only watch them in small doses, but they crack me up nevertheless. Nyuk nyuk nyuk.

8. Benny is as hilarious as Bush's presidency, but he's not Monty.
I like both, but I can only rent Benny wheras I OWN most of my Python material.
