So I stayed up late last night finishing my reading for Human Sexuality
Guess what class got canceled today? I should have known. :eyes:

OTOH, that gave me time to drop by the library and see if they had anything that would help with my research paper and to grab some testing materials I need next week from the bookstore, so I can't complain. :)

5. It's going pretty good.
I don't feel at all overwhelmed yet. For the most part I seem to have lucked into fairly easy instructors. My polisci teacher seems a bit more intent on challenging us, but I'm not having a hard time keeping up.

Everytime he talks about propaganda, the words Karl Rove or Iraq War are soon to follow.

9. There was some reading on intersexed people that was new to me.
I didn't really know much about the different genetic anomalies that result in intersex and I definitely hadn't seen pictures before. That was really interesting, and reading about groups working for better acceptance of intersex children (rather than a drive to fix them) was very cool.

There was also a little bit on respectful treatment of transgendered persons I'm tempted to quote next time there's a flamewar about that.

So far I'm really liking the class.

11. I make jokes about the class
but I learned so much when I took it years ago. It really is a good class that everyone should be required to take.

14. I definitely agree
It's weird though, so many of the kids in the class (and they really are kids) are just out of high school. I feel odd being in the same room while they hear about sexual topics. I'm taking day classes though, I'm betting if I were there evenings there'd be more people my age or older.

15. Mine was a January term.
Most schools don't even offer those anymore. We had more serious students who stayed during the month of January and adults who could take a couple of weeks off for my class.

The atmosphere was much more serious.

schoolwork off the Internet? (Like my older son does...)

You are SO old-fashioned.

It's quaint, isn't it?

I figure if I'm paying to get an education, halfassing it only rips off myself, so why bother? I may change my mind closer to finals, but I kinda doubt it.

my son had your attitude. Even though I've told him essentially what you just said (over and over), he just does NOT seem to get it.

23. I think it comes from having a kid.
If I have to do this (and if I ever want to have a job I don't hate, it's pretty much non-negotiable) I need to get this done. I could take my time about it, but I really don't want to be a student when LeftyKid's a teenager and I'm in my thirties.

in my thirties before I even HAD the first kid.

Couldn't help it; I was busy.

your hair while you're still young. Mrs R and I will be 60 when the Little Guy graduates from high school. Yeesh.

27. Yeah, but I might be empty nesting when I'm young enough to do something
not-so-smart about it. I'm making plans now to get a puppy when that day comes.

loyalty by sharing one of her experiences...

29. Eek!
:scared:

Nah, I'll just remind myself how much fun ten months of pregnancy was when I was young, and how much more fun it'd be. Most days I think I've got my hands full with just LK anyhow. Today he's being good and reading some comics while I post, after having spent the day at the fair with my sister. I think now that I've got a reasonably cooperative kid who's so fun to talk to it'd be hard to get back in the baby groove.
