Poll question: Favorite John Hughes Film
Uncle Buck has been on heavy HBO rotation this month. What's your favorite John Hughes film?

3. Sixteen Candles.
I was totally mesmerized by the blatant bigotry addressing the Asian character.

4. Aww, your avatar is so cute!
Dammit, it's a tie between 16 candles and Breakfast club. I guess I'll go for BC for the line, "demented and sad, but social."

6. Pretty in Pink or Sixteen Candles. Sixteen Candles had this though:

so I guess that makes it the winner.

7. See, all these movies take place in a town called Shermer, in Illinois.
And there's all this fine bush running around, and we could kick all the dudes' asses because they're all whiney pussies. Except Judd Nelson - he was harsh. But best of all, there was no one selling weed. So I says to Silent Bob "Man, we could live phat if we were the blunt-connection in Shermer, Illinois!" So we collected some cash we were owed, and caught a bus. But when we got here, you know what we found Out? There is no Shermer in Illinois. What kind of shit is that?! Fucking movies are bullshit!

9. I'm tied between Wierd Science and Breakfast Club
Boingo was my favorite band in high school (still is, actually), so WS gets a huge boost...

12. Does Vacation really count? I thought he only wrote that one?
Vacation gets my vote if so--if not, Uncle Buck. Or Ferris Bueller.

Nah--it's gotta be Sixteen Candles.

My brother just paid a dollar to see your underwear!

SCREAM!

13. Very Intelligent Question
Harold Ramis directed Vacation, I think. Hughes wrote it. I voted for Vacation, because the question is what is our "favorite" John Hughes movie. Not the most important, or the best, but just our "favorite."

My favorite is Vacation, according to these limitations set forth in the post.

Otherwise, I would vote for Breakfast Club.

15. Uncle Buck
showed a really nice side of John Candy. I thought it was well done.

I also liked Ferris Beuller and a couple of others, but Uncle Buck kind of just gives me a smile.

though I have a bit of a sentimental attachment to PTaA, because my dad rents it every Thanksgiving.
