Poll question: Best Speech
If you haven't visited these in a while, I highly recommend them. Especially these days, it's good to be reminded what power lies in great oratory.

Gettysburg Address http://showcase.netins.net/web/creative/lincoln/speeches/gettysburg.htm

Lincoln's 2nd Inaugural http://www.bartleby.com/124/pres32.html

MLK "I Have A Dream" http://www.americanrhetoric.com/speeches/Ihaveadream.htm

JFK Inaugural Address http://www.americanrhetoric.com/speeches/johnfkennedyinaugural.htm

Reagan "Challenger Disaster Address" http://www.americanrhetoric.com/speeches/rreaganchallenger.htm

Eisenhower's Farewell Address http://www.americanrhetoric.com/speeches/dwightdeisenhowerfarewell.html

Yes I hate Reagan with the heat of a supernova, but this was a damn good speech when the country needed it.

4. I still believe the only reason the Challenger went up that day
in the face of all that ice and dire warnings from the engineers
was just so Reagan could talk to them in space during his State
of the Union.

"Ladies and Gentlemen, I'd planned to speak to you tonight to report on the state of the Union, but the events of earlier today have led me to change those plans."

Yeah, right.
