bad day... just a bad day....
Having serious financial trouble. I was relying on my financial aid at school to come through and then I'd be perfectly fine, because I figured I would get enough back to pay off some bills and so on. Well, I found out that I am not eligible for any more financial aid, other than my Pell Grant. So, I am still over 500 dollars short on tuition. I do have one scholarship, which should just barely cover tuition. But I cannot buy my books, get a bus pass, I will have no food for the month, and if I can't pay my rent on friday, I just might be homeless this time next week.

I know I'll find some way. I'll pretty much have to. I am hoping the people awarding the one scholarship I am getting will find some extra funds or something, that's about the best hope I have right now. If I drop out, I will lose the position I have in the student president's cabinet, I will be stuck doing nothing all semester and I will still have to find some way to pay the rest of my bills. Something always comes up I guess, but damn, I am so dejected right now.

I just feel deflated. :(

5. Talk to everyone at school! Professors, administration, everyone.
My wife and I both had similar problems a couple of times during college, and someone always came through. I'm probably not the best person to talk to because I actually ended up for awhile living in my car in the parking lot behind a church... but nevermind, I also got a couple of grants that I didn't know existed until I was screaming for help at the end of my rope. One of those organizations I've paid back in multiples over the years, knowing they are helping out other people like I was.

7. I'm about to
go in and talk to the people at Native American student affairs. They helped me out a few times before. I will get some money from them, but not sure if it will be enough. They are a bit of a longshot, but still some hope there. If not then I'll truly be at the end of my rope. I am hoping I can get a few of the professors to loan me a book or two. That would help a lot. Thanks for the advice. I don't have a car to live out of, haha, so, hopefully, it won't get that far. :) I think my brother can get some cash for rent, I hope so anyway.

11. Heh, the car was broken.
I had to push it off the street. The pastor offered me a place to stay, but I refused. Honestly, I didn't have all my wits about me, but his little act of generosity, letting me park my car there, was a big step up for me.

Good luck to you!

6. Can you drop one class for the tuition refund? Not the best solution, but
it sure beats dropping out all together.

8. nope
I have to keep a certain level of units in order to get financial aid at all. If I drop one I get it all revoked. :) Although, I did do that once before, but the situation was a little different then, so it isn't a bad idea at all, it just won't work for me in this instance. :)

9. Hang in there!
Can you just move in with someone for the semester? I assume you have asked ALL your relatives for support? Sorry I don't have any great advice here...just hold on...and please keep your chin up, OK?

12. I hope you find some options.
I really was homeless for a while in college. It was one of the two worst times of my life. I requently hope that nobody ever has to got through what I went through.
