Please explain this to me.... I don't get it
I've spent years being punished for using words like "Blood" "Snot" "Mucous Membranes".

Yet my Mom - the one who was so freaked out by my outre vocab - spent the entire evening looking at flayed human corpses! And enjoyed it! But I can't say "snot".

Khash.

1. Well, that's easy
She was looking...she wasn't saying 'snot'.

Completely different things.

Yup.

(it's 'parental logic')

2. She was frying her own brains. When you say "snot" you're frying the
brains of innocent bystanders.

Or something. I have absolutely no idea, I just felt like answering. :)

3. Just wait until she starts giving you a daily report on how her
bowels are "draining"... My grandmother does this... She knows it disgusts me so, now, she prefaces bowel talk with,"I know you don't want to hear this but,..." Ohhhh icky spew!!! :puke: What is it with people?

Hi Khash! :hi:

5. Hey, Peg!
I'd like to talk to you too (something interesting happened and you'ld know exactly what I'm telling you). You might let me say "snot", after all! (If you can say "fuck" more times than I can count, then surely you'll let me say "snot" at least once :)

Unfortunately, something's wrong. I can't get a phone call out or get one in. Minor local network probs - but really! What if there is a fire and I need rescuing? Huh? I somehow managed to get my 'puter to connect intermittently - with a lot of tech support.

So bear with me :) I promise... the moment I can I'll call. Until then, just realize I'm neither ignoring nor avoiding you. I'd never do that!

Love and kisses,
Khash.

(P.S. Found a cool quote that made me think of you. "I was babbling, talking like a crazy person. I should shut up. But I looked into her eyes and saw total understanding.")

7. Hey my dear Khash........
Sorry I didn't respond sooner.......I was wandering in my archived threads, looking for one that is suitable for WIMR's thread...

I know you're having trouble with the phone...D told me.........

You can say snot as much as you like, baby!

I will be busy tomorrow, what with the gym in the AM, and a trip to the lab in the PM for labwork and a 12 lead EKG for my surgery next week.

Look forward to hearing from you sweetie! I know you're not ignoring me.....

Love and kisses back atcha!

Peggy

8. Who knows?
She may be crazy. My ex says my entire family is insane... I slightly come out ahead because I'm aware I'm crazy (according to him).

So, dunno. But I was following rule number 7 of several thousand: "Ask other people's opinions. They may know something you don't."

:)

10. That's easy
She's the mom, you're her kid.

Case in point. When my best friend and I were teenagers we were going somewhere. My friend was driving, her mom was riding shotgun and I was in the backseat. My friend had said some vulgar word and her mom gasped and said, "Your mouth is scurvy!".

A while later her mom was going on a tangent and uttered a curse word. My friend made the mistake of trying to be cute and said, "Mom! Your mouth is scurvy!". Her reward was a hard slap across the face (while she was driving no less).

The age old rule is that parents can do things that kids just aren't allowed to.
