The interracial dating thread in GD reminded me of this story

When I was much younger and in college I met this extremely attractive and intelligent african-american woman at work (I'm a white guy, with a nickname like Fuzz that should be obvious :) ). We spoke on several occasions and I ended up asking her out; fortunately she said yes. We went out a couple times. We didn't have much in common, but she was a great person nonetheless.

Here's the funny/weird part. This gay guy I worked with thought it was completely disgusting.

I just stared at him and blinked repeatedly in complete confusion.

4. Where I'm from...

... alot of gay men (at least gay white men)do seem to have a problem with interracial dating. Years ago I dated a white man and when we'd go to gay bars the white men would give us very obvious hostile looks and even whisper to each other while looking right at us. I've heard other white gay men comment on what a "nice change" it is to see an interracial gay couple. Obviously, this isn't a hostile remark but it does underscore just how uncommon these relationships are in the gay community in my city--the gay male community at least.
