If you could do anything you wanted, what would it be?
Say you have no kids, no responsibilites to anyone or anything except yourself. You're sitting in a place you don't particularly care for, a dead end, a place where financial possibilities are few and far in between.

You have a car, but no furnture that you need to drag around with you. What would you do? Where would you go? If you could just walk out the door, what direction would you head? If you could choose to do anything, regardless of what your abilities are, what would it be?

1. Probably
New Orleans. They are still having issues with animal rescue there and I would like to be a part of that if I could. If I won the lottery I would open a sanctuary in the top of one of the gulf states so losing 235,000 (domestic) animals from one disaster never happens again.

10. one thing I know
if there ever is something I find that will make me happy for the rest of my life I will have OD'd on it by the next day and end up DOA in E.R. It's my nature. So it's better for me to aim for fulfillment instead of 'happiness'.

5. I'd crew on Leviathan.
Leviathan is the newest boat in the Sea Shepherd fleet:

She'll head to Australia to intervene on behalf of the whales when the Japanese harpoons come to break the law. She's faster than what they've seen there before. This year, it's going to get ugly.

6. I would travel the country a while until
I found a place that just "did it" for me. What the "it" is, I cannot explain. There are just certain places that just do it for me. Once I found that place, I'd look into buying a small bit of land and build the underground storm shelter/large Lowe's building combination house I have been mulling over and dreaming about in my mind for some time now. Also, I'd add a music studio to it if possible. I'd take my cats though. And if I didn't have cats, I'd go adopt some. Either way, cats are my rock, my support, my love.

and I didn't have to worry about the cats or anything, I think I would travel as much as possible around the world, doing the photography I always wanted to do.

9. For starters.........
I'd close up my house, settle my affairs, and go on a long road trip all over the country, to visit my friends.....

I was going to do this earlier, but my family had a fit, and I cancelled it......

But if they weren't standing in my way.......I'd be gone!

I really would......

:woohoo: :woohoo:

13. I am living the life now and doing what I want.
I am single and have no kids or responsibilities. I am not in debt and do not make payments on anything although I am not rich or wealthy. Last November I quit my job of 11 years which I hated and which had the potential to eventually cripple me. My influence was the movie "Office Space" where I basically said, "I hate this job and I'm not going to do it anymore" and the beauty is that I had and have the freedom to do it. Like the main character in that movie my goal is to do nothing. I love doing nothing. I pretty much did nothing all of last week and I feel good about it. I have adopted the Willie Nelson philosophy and will only make as much money as I need to live. At 54 I have no ambition to be any more than I am and there is no place where I want to go although I have the freedom to do so. I may not be giddily happy, but I am content and satisfied with my position at this time in my life. I choose to do nothing.

And Meg while you're at it. One of my fantasies is to be the meat in a Meg and Jennifer Tilly sandwich.

And someone has put the best scenes from 'Bound' on youtube, too. I'd post links but that would probably get me banned.

19. That became my situation for awhile after I divorced
Just my car, some clothes, and a computer. I moved in with parents for a month and worked a security guard job to get enough money to drive to California (from Ohio). I had someone there to stay with.

It was liberating to me on more levels than I can express. Seeing the country unfold as I drove across, seeing things I had never seen before except in books. Mountains and deserts, indian tribes and tons of mexican-americans.

I grew up in ohio, got married when I was 19, and had never really went out of ohio Except to Indiana once and Maryland for a funeral.

I still remember seeing my first mountain. And the first time I hit desert and saw sage brush, and later on Joshua trees.

few cares in the world, except missing my kids and folks.

I miss the mountains and desert, someday I will be back though.

22. I'd take up nuclear engineering. I'd spend the nights hitting the books.
I'd live a spartan live in libraries.

But none of that is going to happen to me, since hopefully I'll always have my wife as a lover, and my children as my children.

Luck has befallen me.

Being the King of the World. It has the potential to be absolute spiritual freedom, which is NOT to be confused with self-abuse, self-destruction and idiocy.

To me, that is finally realizing what my mind/body is here to do.

35. that's exactly what i'm doing right now
only i don't have a car

i quit my job and said fuck it all and went out hitchhiking and hopping trains around the country. i broke my collarbone in june so i'm staying with family in wisconsin til i recover, and i leave again in less than a month.

i sleep outside and only have my sleeping bag, a backpack, a couple extra clothing items and a few scattered other items. i find odd jobs here and there, but if i have to fill out an application and it doesn't pay cash then i won't do it. if i can't find work and i'm broke i panhandle, which isn't the most fun thing to do in the world but hey, sometimes everyone needs a little help.

i wouldn't have it any other way and it's the best decision i ever made in my life. man wasn't made to sit in offices all day.
