Would you feel secure or worried if there were a lot more cop cars
than usual in your neighborhood? I'm a bit of both at the moment. B-) :scared:

5. Wait- I've seen so many ganster movies I can't keep them straight.
Does someone get shot at the end? And can you hear it above the ABYSMALLY LOUD SOUNDTRACK? }(

4. Neither.
I wouldn't be worried since I grew up in a high crime area and it just doesn't really scare me. I also wouldn't feel more secure because I don't trust cops all that much.

7. All in all, secure.
But I'd be worried about what the person did to have the cops come over.

Domestic abuse?

Drug abuse?

Prostitution?

Assault and battery?

9. There are aggressive drug dealers in my neighborhood
Sometimes visible, sometimes not so visible. It's tough when you look forward to a "nice stroll".

It would mean that they have a reason to be here... :scared:

Made worse because of what that reason could be at the moment round here.

22. I sometimes wonder
"where are they" when I see the sort of driving I see in CH! Then when I get pulled for a month-late inspection sticker, I'm like, "Why aren't you out there getting the real perps?" :P I mean the ones who tailgate.

16. ugh
too many cop cars make me nervous, that because i mistrust the police.

we have at least five overlapping jurisdictions in our area:

town/city
sheriff's dept
texas dps
constable
game wardens (the most powerful out of all of them)

prisons are the only real growth industry besides petrochemicals in our area.

17. I would feel more secure, my dear Sugar Smack!
But then, I have always had good relations with cops....

And my son-in-law is a cop.......

So I feel safer with them around!

I would be curious about whatever was bringing them, however....

18. worried
because I couldn't speed anymore...:sarcasm: Like I speed anyways...:hide:
But in all honesty, yeah, I would feel a bit of both. During my two years of living in Sacramento, seeing cops cars around our area(Valley Green) I felt more secure...because

1. Three dead bodies found shot to death in parking lot

2. A lot of fleeing criminals would try to lose the cops by entering apartment complex's...

3. Our neighbor woke up one morning, to see a guy barage through his pantry wall, and cut through the living room, and out the door...the guy was being chased by cops in next door apartment, dude was all cranked out and ran though the wall, and got away....:)

30. Not at Valley Green
:) We would have the ghetto bird out there at least 3-5 times a week, I swear. Plus our neighbor above us was a crack dealer...he was a cool guy, but just knowing the clientale coming through, made myself, and my roomates very...leery.

19. The crime rate here is rising fast.
They've added some cops to the department to patrol on the west side, but I barely notice them. If I saw too many police cars, I think I'd get a little paranoid. I don't know why. I guess I don't want to see too many authority figures in cars!

26. Here, honestly
I have conflicting emotions. The cops are all over the place, but I still can't "stroll around" or take out the trash without having a car pull up next to me and its driver giving me a bad time.

27. I'd be more worried
We already have cruisers on a regular basis, and police helicopters hovering around the community at least once a month. (My community is sooooo lovely :sarcasm:) If more showed up that would signal that there was even more suspect behavior going on to be worried about.

29. I hate my community
Sure it looks like a nice "middle class" community, but it's overrun with kids roaming in gang-like packs, young adults who drive around with guns hanging out of their car windows, thug-types who hang out on the streets all hours of the night and the like. We've had multiple rapes and robberies over the years as well as at least one case of arson. I can't wait to get out.

36. I Feel Very Secure
I live in Canada's capitol city and there are police everywhere. Every foreign embassy is assigned a secuity detail from the RCMP and I live in a neighborhood with about 20 official residences for ambassadors from other countries. I can go anywhere at anytime and feel perfectly safe.

39. Worried.
Given that our nation has been slowly transforming into a police state for the last 20 years, an increase in cop cars on the street would make me very anxious.
