What are you greatful for in 2003
Time to reflect on 2003 and list what we are greatful for this past year:

  • I'm greatful that I'm still healthy and I still have a good hold on my job
  • I'm greatful that there is less of me at the end of 2003 than there was in the beginning of 2003 (about 35lbs worth)
  • I'm greatful that 40+ Senators were able to ban together over a dozen times this year to save ANWR and prevent right-wing idealogues on our bench
  • I'm greatful for all the chances I had to get together with my friends at DU. I feel I've strengthened many of my DU friendships to ones I hope are with me the rest of my life
  • I'm greatful for a Grey & White lil stinker that keeps me up all nights but loves to cuddle and gives me kisses. I hope that Abbie is still with me in 2003
  • I'm greatful we found Saddam Hussein but I'm praying that we can now end the maddess in Iraq, turn their rebuilding over to the UN and bring our soldiers home
  • I'm greatful for my family all making it through another year.
  • I'm greatful for Ed Rendell & PA's Health Care Tax Credit which reduced my parent's health insurance by 65%. I'm praying that our federal government doesn't nose their business into this and screw it up anymore.
  • I'm greatful for DU which is my sanity point in this insane world

What are you greatful for?

1. Okay
I'm grateful for my little house on Oaktown and my new, lower house-payment.

I'm grateful for my dh.

I'm grateful for my snakes.

I'm grateful I found DU before I thought the whole world had gone mad.

2. that my mom and children are alive and in good health
A few friends lost children others lost parents this year...very sad. I have my children and mom and nothing else matters.

So Sweet Love Seemed That April Morn
by Robert Bridges

So sweet love seemed that April morn,
When first we kissed beside the thorn,
So strangely sweet, it was not strange
We thought that love could never change.

But I can tell -- let truth be told --
That love will change in growing old;
Though day by day is naught to see,
So delicate his motions be.

And in the end 'twill come to pass
Quite to forget what once he was,
Nor even in fancy to recall
The pleasure that was all in all.

His little spring, that sweet we found,
So deep in summer floods is drowned,
I wonder, bathed in joy complete,
How love so young could be so sweet.

4. Hmm, let's see...

  • I'm grateful I found a job to replace the one I lost thanks to the Bush Recession
  • I'm grateful said job pays enough that I can keep my house (the first offer I received would not have come close)
  • I'm thankful my Dad found a part-time job after taking early retirement (once again, thanks to the Bush Recession)
  • I'm thankful my Mom was able to find a buyer for the inventory and client list from her small business. (No BR to blame this time. She had to have her hip replaced.)
  • I'm thankful to have someone with the balls of Howard Dean to stand up against the rising tide of fascism in the federal government.

  • I'm also grateful that my brother-in-law is doing OK after his cancer surgery yesterday. This is his second cancer surgery (different places, and supposedly unrelated cases) in three years.
  • And I'm grateful that my Mom's hip replacement went well.
  • And of course, that the rest of my family and I are all healthy.

38 minutes and I can head home to see my fuzzy hunny. We'll probably spend all weekend snuggling in bed.

He's such a cutie - you'll have to come down and visit us!!!

9. I am grateful for the fact that
I have had no one in my family die in 2003---background...in 2001 my youngest brother committed suicide. In 2002 my oldest brother died of a heart attack and my stepfather also died of a heart attack less than three months after my oldest brother died.

Even though the perks at my job suck, I am grateful to have a job that offers even minimal benefits (isn't that what bosses want, a grateful workforce that way they wont ask for much?)

I am grateful that the Dead got back together and toured this summer.

I am grateful that I got myself a Mac this summer.

I am grateful for DU!!!!
