The reason you haven't heard of them is that they made a conscious decision not to play the corporate game. They turned down several offers from major record labels. Instead they formed their own label and make a comfortable but not lavish living by putting out their own quality records and recordings by other worthy artists.

I have no idea what the clerks at your local B&N think of them. They are highly regarded amongst people that are into that sort of thing though.
