LIGHT BULB ENTHUSIASTS: What the hell are these bulbs for?

We're trying to clean out the basement a bit, and we came across the three lightbulbs pictured below. I'm fairly certain they got here through my wife, but she has no idea what their purpose is. Anybody know what sort of appliances they go with?

3. The middle one, I've seen in REALLY old desk lamps...

...and entertainment consoles.

And might I add, that one on the left is very cool looking.

5. maybe early attempts to give off a more natural light by using a gas

instead of a filament (or extended life, energy conservation... something like that)?

7. I'm almost certain the one on the left

has something to do with reanimating the dead

you'll need a whole lab full of other stuff too though.

the one on the right looks like the ones I used for an old fridge, about 15 years ago or so.

11. The one on the left is a mercury vapor lamp.

They are for making a blinding outdoor light that prevents anyone from seeing anything.

It is spahed a little like an X-ray emitter, but I doubt it is.

The others are probably also illuminated gas lamps. (Illuminated with electricity, not combustion).
