Girls, how many crossdresser friends do you have?

Just want to get a general feeling about my lifestyle around this place. I'm not too worried about it, though.

1. I have a very good MTF transgendered friend in Boston.

I am gay and have been around "all walks" basically my whole adult life so its no big woop to me. I am sure there are some in here that will wince(I can see the list of screennames in my head) but I wouldnt worry too much. anyways welcome. :hi:

but my son (who is straight) is involved in the theatre so some of his friends cross-dress...He took me to a drag reveiw a few months that his friends were in and it was a lot of fun. It was a fundraiser for the local gay and lesbian community center. His friends were amazed his mom went with him to a gay night club...but I had a great time.

As in drag or transgendered?

I several who do drag and I have known 2 transgendered. Both of my trans friends were cool as hell. One was a little neurotic but I think that was just her and made me love being with her more. She laughed at her ownself more anyway.

My drag friends tend to grate on me. They are over the top, outrageous flamers. Nothing wrong with it, just hits me the wrong way. We "hang out" when I go out to the clubs but never really outside of there.

I suppose I know one man who I would call a cross dresser and not a drag queen or a trans. He looks like a man. Doesn't wear much make up. Wears dresses and women's clothing. Wears a wig. But he only does it occassionally and also dresses like a man. He's pretty cool. I like it when he has on his little mini skirt and long wig and then kicks some str8 guy's ass in pool. (There is a "gay" bar here that gets quite a few str couples in it.)

9. Strangely, my little brother's best friend cross dressed

This started when they were 6 or 7. Strangely, his father was a Methodist minister and his mother bought him the tights and dresses. This boy was very much into drama and acting out as different characters he saw in movies and television when he played. He may have just saw female clothes as costumes. He played both male and female characters and was one of the best young actors that I have ever seen although he did not do so professionally. He moved away and is 13 now. I don't know if he still dresses as a girl sometimes.

11. I know quite a few people who enjoy dressing up

as the other gender. Don't know if they're truly TVs - some are - but it's no skin off my ass. Hell, isn't it kind of cross-dressing when I wear workboots and overalls? No one blinks an eye at that, so it doesn't bother me to see a guy in a tutu and ballerina slippers. Although I do think one should de-hair the drumsticks if one is going to wear sheer stockings, whether bio-male or bio-female.

I know a couple of transgender people as well, but I wouldn't consider them cross-dressers.

going back to my freshman year in college, I interview Christine Jorgenson for the school paper when she came to lecture.

in the NYC cabaret scene I know several men who perform professionally in 'drag' but they are all 'celebrity impersonators' rather than 'drag queens' (and I attach no negativity to that term, just a difference in approach to cross-dressing).

i also know performers who use a female persona (w/o the celebrity angle)

and don't even ask about Halloween.........

for myself, I feel that one Bea Arthur is quite enough.... ;-)

15. Well...

I have one good TG friend who dresses in skirts and blouses and heels and such, but has a beard, doesn't wear makeup, and doesn't try to pass as female...and I'm not exactly cisgendered, myself. I'm *always* wearing "men's" pants (as in, from the men's department) and more often than not shirts from there, too, and my shoes are technically a men's size 5. I wear girl-clothes undies, though, because I really *need* to wear a bra. (I'm not trying to pass as male, either; I just habitually cross-dress, but unlike some women, I don't dress at all in a "feminine" style despite "cross-shopping.")
