So i saw a grand slam yesterday...
and realized that i've seen maybe a three dozen or so grand slams live in my life. This makes me wonder if i watch too much baseball. My question: Is there such a thing as too much baseball?

It was Raul Ibanez off Kyle Snyder in the fifth at Safeco.

10. 6.49 for an OGS? Screw that noize.
not only did they change the coffee (which used to be good, but now is just a big cup o'nasty), but the Original Grand Slam is $6.49!! The hell with that. I remember when the OGS used to be 3 bucks.

5. Best one I saw was last year Angels - Yankees
Bases were loaded in the 7th, Angels were down 5 - 2, Vlad Guerrero hit one out to center field, Angels go ahead and come back 6 - 5, and won! And yes, I was at the game.

Also last year, I went to the Padres - Nationals game and they were down 6 - 2, hit a grand slam in the bottom of the 9th to tie the game, and then the Padres won it in extra innings with a walk-off home run.

15. When Game One of the World Series started, I was worried
because the Astros and Cardinals took the NLCS so long...

I thought they would have cooled off, and I thought the Astros would be on fire.

I was even worried in Game 4, lol.

"Oh, no, this is where they blow it"

You can tell I'm a Chicagoan

21. Yeah, the Cubs got a pretty good gig
their fans are too loyal to ever leave, and Wrigley Field (the field and stadium itself) sells more tickets (for the novelty of it) than the actual team.

They never have to win anything to be profitable, and that's what the Trib wants.

Plus, I friggin' hate the AL. But I always seem to end up moving to AL cities. I lived in Detroit for a couple of years, and Comerica Park sucks.

Especially after Hendry dismantled the rotation this year. We've started thirteen pitchers. Eight of 'em rookies.

24. Inside the park
I saw an inside the park grand slam exactly once, in person (in Oakland, Texas' Oddibe McDowell hit it) - this was during a Father's Day daytime doubleheader back in the late 80's/early 90's. Prety sure I'll NEVER see that combination of events again!

32. my first professional baseball game
I'm 37 and went to my first professional baseball game on the weekend. Minor league, with my son and hubby. we had a great time. My son got a ball from one of the players, we were sitting right above the dugout. No grand slams though, maybe next time.

barons were the home team for us, but the bison player gave the ball to my son, the gentleman sitting next to my son and hubby knew the bison player and asked for a ball for my son. We had good seats because they were from a season ticket holder who couldn't use them. I really had a good time. I would go again.

I've never heard a story about a minor league player being a jerk (unless they've been in the majors for a while). I bet your son was thrilled.

this guy may have played for the red sox. The prices for the games and food are not bad at all at that stadium. That makes it extra nice. Great night out, and we got a sitter for the soon to be 2 year old...who is now getting into trouble....so I must go. And you should be getting out from under your desk now.
