Going to Roxy Music tomorrow night.
Anyone else gonna be there?

Mrs. XNASA is completely ga-ga over Bryan. This usually works out to my advantage.

7. No new material. Kind of a reunion tour.
We saw Bryan last November doing a tour in support of his "Frantic" album, which is quite good.

They're only doing a handful of US dates. I know that band reunited for a big tour a couple of years ago. I have the DVD. It's great.

It's Thompson, Manzanera, MacKay and Ferry, with others filling in. No Eno, of course.

10. Looks like Ladytron is on the current set-list.
Did you catch the Venus in Furs version from the movie Velvet Goldmine?

You've got me girl on the run around run around
You've got me all around town
You've got me girl on the run around
And it's getting me down, getting me down

And Manzanera just TEARS IT UP at the end...one of those "Peak Moments"...especially after the 5th tall one kicked in :)

6. Ferry is great
I have been buying his music for years. I have all the Roxy music as well but only saw them once. Way way back when Eno was still with them. I would love to catch them again but lived for over twenty years in South Carolina. No one good ever plays in South Carolina. I recently moved to Califonia and the Bay Area and may have a chance yet.

9. What Venue?
Man i loved Roxy back in the day! I think Love is the Drug is one of the best pop tunes ever recorded. I liked everything they did both before and after Eno.

Country Life is my favorite album, though.

Where are they playing?

I used to like you two. Now i have to hate you. I don't deal with envy very well.

Damn it. You don't even have to drive far to get there, either. {{{{Grumble, grumble, murmur, murmur, "Damn XNASA", harumph, harumph}}}

22. Hey. I finagled these tickets fair and square.
Edited on Wed Jul-30-03 03:54 PM by XNASA
I victimized some guy who had no idea who Roxy Music was. I said I'd do him a favor and take the tickets off his hands in that case.

I think he's a Repube, if that makes you feel any better.

:hi:

I mean, now he's just rubbing it in. I should get at least 3 or 4 smacks for that! And, i want to use a sand wedge. Bigger flange.

14. Lucky you!
I've never been fortunate enough to see RM but I did see Ferry solo back in the 80's. I'm gaga over him too ;-) I was just listening to "Boys and Girls" the other day - man what an album! Gotta be one of the sexiest albums ever. Have a great time.

16. I already had tickets to the B-52's at the Hard Rock
when Roxy went on sale.
I wouldn't want to see them at a mega-venue like the Tweeter anyway, though...It could never be as good as the show at the Auditorium.

19. Yeah. I know but.........
I saw Ferry at the Chicago Theater a few months ago. And I've saw RM at the Uptown, many years ago.

Besides, the Tweeter is just a few miles from where I now live. And I got free ticks. So........I guess I'm goin'.

29. You can't beat the price. And it should be a good show.
...Judging by the set list you posted.
It's too bad about what the Uptown has, or rather hasn't become. The only Sprinsteen show I ever saw was at the Uptown.
