21. To get rid of all icons:

Right-click on your desktop

Highlight "Arrange Icons By"

Uncheck "Show Desktop Icons"

If you put your Task Bar on autohide (right-click task bar, click "Properties", check "Auto-hide the taskbar") you will have a clean, pretty desktop! (the task bar will pop up when you move the mouse pointer to the bottom of the screen).
