Your house is burning down....
I've always enjoyed hearing people's answers to this one.

Your house is burning down, the family and pets are out OK -- but you get to take 2 things outta there before the whole place goes up.

What 2 things do you grab?

13. My Zuni lizard fetishes carved by Staley Natewa...
A *very* gifted carver who died suddenly this year at age 31 -- they are only about 3 1/4" in length; one is carved from apple coral, and the other from green ricolite.

They are irreplaceable.

16. ALL of the pets are OK?
'Cause I don't know how in the hell I'm gonna get that 125 gallon fish tank out that fast.

I'd have to go with pictures and... and... hell, I don't know what else. Whatever's handy and easy to carry, I guess.

19. Is that why I smell smoke?
Oh, grab two things? First, my pants (with my wallet & keys inside), then my shoes. If it's cold, though, I'll also grab a coat.

Years ago (like 1/4 century ago), a fire started at work -- actually, next door, but the smoke came through the wall. I had just overseen the buying of a video monitor (no PCs then, just a dumb monitor and keyboard, with modem to connect by phone line to a mainframe), so I grabbed that and hurried into the alley. My boss noted that we had research documents on the shelves on the wall with the fire that had cost us many thousands of dollars to collect, and instead of trying to save them, I grabbed a monitor worth much less. I noted that at least I had grabbed something, rather than running out empty-handed, as most had done.
