Have you tried putting yourself on ignore?

This seems to raise interesting questions, which are perhaps best resolved by a direct test.

But, frankly, I still haven't worked up enough nerve to try it.

Fortunately, there is The Lounge -- filled with many expects having all manner of experience: so perhaps somebody here has tried this critical experiment ... ?

It's not possible, nor can you send yourself a private message. I also thought you could send a PM to somebody on ignore, but apparently you can't. Go figure.
