Took 3.5 hours, but it was WORTH IT.

I am SO pleased with the results, and the color should be even brighter when it is fully healed (I got it a week ago, so there's tons of flaking and the color isn't that bright)

There have been, like most people, extremely shitty parts of my life where I thought I wouldn't make it-- getting through college has been rough financially. I was at one point afraid I'd have to drop out because my mother and father were getting a divorce and my dad basically stopped doing taxes, which meant no financial aid (because financial aid is based on income, and those tax papers are required). So at a 46K a year school, with no financial aid, it's not possible. I was paying 5K a year until this happened, then I had to take a SHIT LOAD of loans to cover my ass because of my dad. But, I got through this rough spot and am now in my senior year at Boston College, albeit up to my ass in debt, but still here :)

Also, I believe that an individual dies many times during their life and they come out of it changed-- if they will it. Some people die and die permanently, literally or metaphorically. I've experienced this 3 times in my life, and I wanted the phoenix to remind me that I always can be reborn no matter how bad something may happen to me.

That is so cool! My last one was two years ago. I don't have a pic on this PC, not like I would know how to send it to you anyway! The guy who did it is in Florida, he told me to scrub it with a wash cloth two hours after he did the tat. then bandage it with just a little a&d ointment, then scrub it again in another two hours. bandage it again with a&d, then take the bandage off in the morning. It peeled like a sunburn and there was no scabbing like my first one. The skin is completely smooth and the colors are so much brighter. Sounds like your care was the same?? Where did you get it done? Mine took 2 1/2 hours and it is on the outside of my left thigh. I work at a bank and can't really have any tats showing...bastards!!!
Are you still in Mass? We have been thinking of having a party in October. Not enough time left for the summer. Are you going to be around?
