I had Hard Shell Crabs for lunch - YUMMY YUMMY

Nothing is better in this world than a plate full of steamed hard shell crabs (blue crabs). I could spend an entire day just digging out the meat in those things and enjoying it. I've had all types of crab meat but the blue crab just has the best meat in them even though it's the hardest & messiest to get out

Anyone a fan of hard-shells?

1. Yes, and I'm not that picky about which ones.

In terms of taste, the smaller East Coast crabs have a sweeter, more intense flavor. Dungeness and King are a lot less work in the picking however.

I make sure I indulge in both hard and soft shell blue crabs. The crabcakes there are heavenly too.

Had the weather not sucked this weekend I'd probably be eating them tonight caught fresh off the cove we're on in CT. However, staying in a tiny cabin with no cable or internet is not fun if you're going to sit inside all day, so I'm in NJ. Next weekend, will probably be my last one up there until the spring. I don't want the summer to end...

12. I'm so jealous...

...back when I was going to school near Lancaster there was a little crab shack to the south of town that had the best blue crabs -- even better than in Maryland, and I lived there for a while, too. Damn, Lynn. I might have to take a three hour drive down to that crab shack now that you put the idea in my head!

24. My friend just got that done

He started with us back when we used to play gigs and he went on to tour with a lot of great artists. In fact I think I was supposed to get you tickets to something he was touring with. Oh yeah, Green Day. He passed out driving a tour truck and smashed it and was kicked off the tour. But he is a great guy and he just had that done. I haven't seen him because he lives in Arizona, but it hurt seeing him getting bigger and bigger. I just hope he is OK.
