during the first few months at DU my ignore list had over 30 posters. Pretty soon I began to notice fewer and fewer messages, and almost no responses to the messages I posted! I had placed person after person on ignore without even bothering to count how many I already had on the list.

Then I dumped everyone on the list..I finally started seeing response the things I posted and there were plenty of other opinions to make DU worth visiting again! I learned an important lesson...why visit a forum if you don't want to read other opinions? Why have a debate if you cannot listen to the other side?

ignore lists are for Republicans, DU is for debate.

I am new hear, so maybe a lot. I don't know the people here all that well yet. I may come off the wrong way,

sometimes I try, and I stress the word "try" to be funny, but maybe someone thinks I'm an idiot.

Also, you have to consider people are reading words, there is no face to face contact to really know when someone is being funny, sarcastic, serious, or the depth of their post.

As a person in general, I have a big heart, very loyal to people, so when some one jumps on me on any message board, I chalk it up to them being just as wrong off the path as they accused me of. They really don't know me.

If you think I'm an idiot, by all means, ignore, lol, poor people on ignore and they don't even know it.

The only person I absolutely know for sure had me on ignore was TJWMason - but only because he thinks I'm mean and he did get over it pretty quickly. (He's right... I am mean... but also rather charming.)

I once went crazy with a killfile... until I realized I had no one left to argue with.... Funnily enough, many of them had killfiled me too! And I still had no one to argue with!

80. It's like a game for me

I use the ignore button and then later I go back and see how many of those were tombstoned. It's usually about 50% then I undo the ignore list and start again when things get really whacked around here.
