I have cingular service. And I accidentally drenched my current phone in rubbing alcohol - don't ask.

Now the keypad is starting to not work.

What is a good, simple phone - I don't want a camera on mine - just something I can call out on and answer and get messages.

1. You're probably going to end up with a camera phone.
They pretty much all have cameras now.

4. It's just that almost all phones have the camera these days
and often the camera phones are cheaper than non-camera phones. My mom paid twice as much for her no features phone as I did for my absurdly over-featured cell phone. Verizon usually has sales on the fancy phones, but not the basic ones.

6. Thanks for the info. I don't want to pay a fortune.

3. I'm enamored with the Motorola RAZR...
Better reception than my E815; I can use the RAZR in some areas where the E815 wouldn't go.

Or a lower-end Nokia. They always have great reception, cost ~$100, and are flat-face instead of the fold-up variety.

Rubbing alcohol - pity it wasn't water; once dried it'd be usable.

5. I guess if you dump them in water the insides start to corrode
and eventually they die.

I hate all of this fancy stuff. I just want to be able to get and make calls. My phone would tap dance all by itself but I have no idea how to make it work. Tried to read the instructions and couldn't understand them.

I'm a real techno doofus.
