* MD State Police Communications Operator
* Sec'y at the IRS
* seasonal part-time park ranger or kiosk operator at Smallwood State Park
* millions of food-service worker positions (Oh, to be a lunch lady!)
* Admin Aide III to a member of the PG County Council Member

So no need to mourn the great job they loved me for, the great job I wanted so badly, the job they inexplicably gave to someone else . . .

2. 911 is actually fun

and, depending on where you work, can be decent money. The insurance is usually decent too plus there's the perk of working w/ officers. If one of the officers you work w/ catches you speeding they usually won't even pull you over.

Word of advice: check into a larger city instead of county dispatch. It usually pays more and offers more days off.
