Who didn't watch this show when it was on?

4. I had a group of really geeky friends in high school.
(I had other friends but that's besides the point.)

Whenever TP was on we'd get together at a different house each week, watch the show, drink strong hot coffee and eat cherry pie while taking notes.

Yes, I said that right. We took notes.

8. The whole "Who killed Laura Palmer" bit.
These were the friends I could geek out with. My other friends were gear heads and such and didn't get into geek behavior.

Note taking must have worked for one friend. He's a detective now. He decided to become one after playing along with the show.

I think he's still jealous that we didn't take him to the TP parties that we had every week at various houses.

He's almost 30 and still hasn't gotten over it.

were Midnight Madness and the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series I'd agree.

He likes to say things to get a rise out of me. That's ok-I'm about to diss Star Wars next time I see him, just to make his head spin.

We can't bash him too much. He's a proud liberal, served his country and isn't afraid to get into arguments w/ the local chickenhawks. He enjoys making them look like fools.

37. He actually does get paid a tiny amount
to do movie reviews. Most of his reviews are dead on but...I think the Twin Peaks bit is more to get my goat than anything else.

When you're laughing midway through the bash something's up. I suspect he really likes TP but doesn't want to admit that it's one more thing we have in common.

It's fine. I'm still tearing Star Wars a good one next time I see him. Maybe I'll even smack him w/ one of his lightsabers.

Twin Peaks and Homefront. Both didn't last very long. TP has staying power to this day.

He wouldn't care if you won, he's just into the fight itself. After five or six beers he'll get me to play. I'm always evil and I usually win.

He doesn't care if it's correct or not. He justs want a playmate.

There's a line between avant-garde and weird for the sole purpose of being weird, and somewhere along the way Twin Peaks crossed it. But, in the beginning, it was great!

So one day he calls me and asks if I've seen Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, and my reply was something like: "Hell no I'm not watching that, who wants to sit through the original Brokeback Mountain?".

I said it just because I knew it would annoy the shit out of him. And it did. :D

My brother's a nut and loves everything about SW. So one day I wrote a bit of fanfic about Han and Luke and posted it on the message board he's always on under his name.

It was easy to do. I was babysitting his kids at his house and he was logged on so I felt the need to help myself. He's still pissed over that little event.

109. I don't "get" David Lynch, either.
And I don't think I'm a moron, at least cinematically.

I guess I "get" him if I accept what I suspect; that he's really just a visual abstract-artist usinf cinema as his medium.

If I try to follow the narrative of his "story-telling", I 100% do not get him most of the time.

Not to say he can't tell a story. He is certainly capable. Blue Velvet, Wild at Heart, and the Straight Story are pretty easy to comprehend. In fact, "Straight Story" is a really well-made movie, in all aspects of the genre.

I actually wrote him after seeing "Mulholland Drive", and told him that f he explained it to me to the point that I'd understand it, I would battle any one person of his choice to the death for his amusement.

No reply, to date.

I have a rather unusual habit of tucking things in the back of my mind, so to speak, to figure out later.

88. Yeah, it was a good show
It fell off the rails a bit between the murder resolution and the Wyndham Earle stuff (partly because Lynch had very little involvement in the show at that point), but it was awesome overall. I was very disappointed at the time that they cancelled and wrapped the show up just when it was starting to get interesting again.

North Bend, WA (where the pilot and most of the outside establishing shots were filmed) still gets lots of Japanese tourists thanks to the show's enduring popularity.

90. I watched it and really like it at first..
... (being a total David Lynch fan) but as it wore on I felt like they were just veering off into nowhere. I expected the "plot" to resolve and the resolution to make some kind of sense, either factually or metaphorically - but if it did, it went right over my head. To me, the plot had trapped itself into a labyrinth and then the writers just printed up a "get out of jail free" card and that kind of annoyed me.

I never missed an episode; taped 'em all; still have the tapes. It might be my all-time favorite TV series. Brilliant and strange as hell.

100. My Husbands Favorite Show of ALL Time
We used to sit and watch Twin Peaks for hours on VHS. It fried my brain to be honest. Lynch is a very twisted dude. I will never look at cherry pie in the same way again. Mulholland Drive (right movie?) really freaked me out after watching it. To each his own though. If you like it? Who cares...its your time. Why get attacked over it?

Just an odd show. It was David Lynch so that should be enough of an explanation.

108. Shocking admission: I still haven't seen it.
I've seen the first episode, and a few parts of the later eps, but I've yet to see the whole thing.

And I have a huge lust-on for Sherilyn Fenn, so what's taking me so long?!
