Man Dies When He Is Buried In Mulch

BOYNTON BEACH, Fla. -- Palm Beach County authorities said the co-owner of a landscaping business died after he was buried in mulch.

Sheriff officials said 43-year-old James Ross was moving mulch from a pile as high as 30 feet when he somehow became buried.

Ross was working at his business, Top Notch Tree Service and Landscaping west of Boynton Beach. He also lived on the property.

Authorities said his wife found her husband's body at 2:30pm Thursday, about two hours after he was last seen alive.

Co-workers dug his body out, but Ross was already dead.

The federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration is aware of the incident.

Investigators said it appears to have been an accident.
