Just need a friend tonight, depressed
Up late, and watching my lame video of mom (she died 12/31/2004):
http://www.toddhowell.com/goodstuff.wmv

Having a bad night, and just need some cheering up. Miss mom and need her right now.

Wife has parkinsons, dad is sick, and in a bad way right now. Finances in a mess, life is a mess, and I just wish she were here right now to talk to me.

Mom always made things better. Now she is gone, and I miss her.

Sorry, just having a bad night. It all seems to hit at once.

2. Thanks
Things have been dark of late, trying hard to cheer up :)

Dad is ill, and a few other issues. Just wishing mom was here to make it all better. Man I miss her.

3. I watched the video.
Your mom lives in your heart. Good vibes for your dad's health. Hope you can get some rest. Life requires everything we've got sometimes. :pals:

4. One thing at a time.
One step at a time.

Focus on what you can cope with and push the other stuff off to the side for later, if possible.

5. I know how you feel, TSS...
When my Mom passed a few years ago, it was on the cusp of several bad events. I can't do or say anything more than this: you'll get through this tough period. Not quickly or easily, but you'll make it through, my friend!

7. Dude I'm so sorry!
When i lost my mother I created a webpage to pay tribute to her.
It was sort of therapy.

You will find many friends here i sure have :)

8. Wow! Surrounded by challenges!
When everything around you turns to crap and everywhere you look is a mess, you still have choices. Life may sometimes leave us with a limited range of choices and often the choices all seem bad to grim.

The primary choice, at that point, is between two options--whether or not we choose to be victims.

We have the choice to view the wasteland of messes around us as the end of all that has gone before or the beginning of what comes next.

In the story of biblical creation, God started with messes all around - chaos - and established order and calm, as can we.

You are the author and creator of te rest of your life; good fortune to you in your mastery of your beauty.

9. TSS, sorry you have so many challenges right now
I know what you are going through, sort of, on a smaller scale...my grandmother died a year ago, and I miss her something fierce.

Hope things get better for you soon, it's hard to be under so much stress and feel like you don't have a shoulder to cry on.

10. I feel for you friend
I watched your video - making that was an act of love. Thanks for sharing it with us. Use her memory to give to you strength. I do that when I need some inspiration from my dad who died back in '93 and some common sense from my wife who died young in '90.

I've learned that sometimes things are not quite as bad as they seem and looking on the "sunny side" can be a great uplifter.

It will be easy for me to think of your family now as I've got friends who dress just like your family in those '50s pictures - especially some of those of your Mother. They're the Fifties crowd who turn up for Rock & Roll and Jump Jive stuff here in the UK - their homes look '50s too.

Gonna watch the video again now. Hope today is better for you.

Shame this post got lounged.:-(

11. Sending you good thoughts and healing energy. I can only imagine
how overwhelming all of this must seem, especially in the dark of night when sleep won't come. Please know that your DU family is here for you, although, even collectively, we cannot take the place of your mother.
This is the time of the new moon, a signal for new beginnings, growth. . may it signal a time of new and happier, healthier times for you and your loved ones.

Peace

12. You have friends here!
I wish I could cheer you up, but I can only seem to do that in person. I can only offer platitudes and the like.

However, my friend and puppy, Voodoo...well, he demands you cheer up! Or he will give you the "evil eye!" :)

From the "Big Easy" you get a BIG !

15. Well...
I made you , I hope that TSS will have the same reaction. :)

Voodoo's "evil eye" is because he was getting his picture made. He doesn't like that...well, he does now...he didn't then.

19. Well fussy...
My OTHER friend, Tony, also wants TSS to be well and know that he is loved. However, Tony, unlike Voodoo, is more poised in his declaration...

So...for TSS...you have a dog, a cat, and me (a man) willing to give you any needed  (don't make me pull out the birds!). Though I am guessing the dog and cat will rank higher than me. :) Cuz I don't think the "story" is the only thing that is straight! LOL! (BTW...both the dog and cat are males too! :))

18. Straight Story...

Your "lame" video has me crying and wishing I had that kind of relationship with my mom. The montage is wonderful and a great tribute. As much as it doesn't really help...you have an internet friend that will keep you in her thoughts today.

I'm sorry things are messed up for you now. My PM box is always open.
