I lost.....

I told all of you that I'd let you know just how I did in my local photo contest....

Well..........the bad news is .......I lost.

Not even an honorable mention.....

I looked at the winners today, in the newspaper that was running the contest.......

And I'd have to say that probably 99% of them were better than mine.......

Still, I'm disappointed, to say the least.........

I need a hug.

However, Peggy, it goes without saying (though I'm going to say it anyway) that you are learning. It's the only way - great photographers, as are great (insert skill here)are made.

I think you should be proud of yourself - first of all, you took up a hobby where many may not have at all. You went out there and did it. You put yourself and your skills on the line.

You know you need to improve; you've got some standards now to look to. You'll do it, Peggy! It will just take some time, and effort.

I love your pictures...I think that you have so many here who do speaks volumes in itself!

In May I entered a black and white photo of my cousin's horse, which I took almost thirty seven years ago(!), in the local fair. Mine was one of only three black and white photos of animals entered, and those three were in a separate division and class and had their own little space on the wall, and each got one of the three little ribbons designated for B&W animal photos. I got #2, which I thought was a kick!
It's always interesting to see what the judges like in the photography and painting exhibits. Do you have a county fair nearby?
