13. that sounds wonderful
the lazy river at the waterpark was all the drifting I did this summer.

Instead, today, I was chasing dust out from under my son's bed. The house was in such a state after the long summer, I tend to get very lazy about housework when the pool is open...

10. The nearest beach to me is Galveston, Texas and with the
heat index it is 102, that's to hot for me.

The only thing I could do is hide in the shade until the sun goes down a little.

14. looks like it's raining at the one in my link
that would mean time to hit the tacky shops! And buy some shells and pink t-shirts!

we always would go early to the beach and then again at the "cocktail" hour.

15. yes, Cali beaches sure are pretty
in a way, they remind me of Cape Cod/ New England beaches, with all those great sandstone caves, and such.

18. we were at a south of SF beach last year
I have to say that Cali beaches are very beautiful, but I was surprised at how cold the water was, having spent all my life at East Coast beaches!

thanks.

19. I've lived out here in CA for a total of 12 years and have
probably been in the water less than 10 times! It's too cold for me, even down here in S. California in the summer time. Plus I am a redhead and don't need another dose of skin cancer :-(.

My favorite East Coast beaches are: Ocracoke Island (NC), Hunting Island (SC), Folly Beach (SC). I miss an ocean that you can actually swim in and be comfortable.

20. Ocracoke is really cool
we used to go to Hatteras all the time with my h's family. I really liked parsing out the accents On Ocracoke when we were there. And the flowers were beautiful.

I've been to Hampton Beach NH, Cape Cod, Jones Beach, Hatteras, Ocracoke, Bethany and Rehoboth. Del, St. Petersburg, Fla, up and down some "beaches" in Oregon and Wash. state and somewhere down a wild canyon road near Neil Young's compound to the beach below there. They all have engaging features. But I think the Cali. coast has the most versatile ecosystems and rocky beauty.
