Mozilla problem

I recently bought a new PC and after installing the Mozilla browser everything worked ok setting up my favorites. One the second day my maqchine all of a sudden rebooted on its own and now all my bookmarks are gone and it won't let set them up again. I uninstalled Mozilla and reinstalled it and the same problem continues. The machine came with McAfee virus software ( I prefer Norton) and I wonder if that is the source of the problem. Any ideas?
