They might also give the smiley person hair or other typically feminine characteristics like in these smilies:


Otherwise you just have to make assumptions/assignments based on context and your imagination.

They're a total asshole though. I've been in plenty of GD arguments when I've wanted to scream asshole at someone (hell, I wanted to do it in the lounge tonight), but this poster was such a consistent asshole of such a large magnitude, that ignore was necessary. Everyone else I've ever ignored has been tombstoned, so apparently my judgement is pretty good.
