Used a home-made patch cord, and downloaded a freeware .mp3 recorder.

So now I can transfer my vinyl into my computer! :woohoo:

1. WAV and ACC files

A WAV file or compressed lossless format would be best for archiving if you have the disk space.

ACC files sound better that MP3 if your player will play them.

2. You have leadership skills and historical acumen.
I salute you, Archae. I never minded the crackles of the needle and wax. Preserve it all, please. It is good. :)

8. are your line levels ok?
i mean you are going direct from the turntable to the computer...if it's an older turntable, do you not need an amplifier?

Also for all gadget and vinyl freaks, there is this turntable:

not recommended for DJing, but decent enough for listening, and great for archiving...(there are more expensive models, of course, but this one is very consumer friendly)

9. Good work MacGyver!
Now make a turbocharged V8 with a bottle cap and some pop rocks and a tube sock.
