Update: Who's Out At SNL? Parnell, Sanz, Forte Floated
Yesterday, the speculation, and today, the unconfirmed rumors: TMZ is reporting that Horatio Sanz and Will Forte are out at SNL, and FishbowlNY is reporting that Sanz will be ousted along with Chris Parnell. TMZ quotes an NBC rep who says its "unconfirmed and uncorroborated. We are not commenting" which does not sound like a denial; FishbowlNY cites an "informed tipster." Note that Forte is the current President Bush impersonator (not to mention making his face go red on command as Zell Miller); Parnell is just comedically awesome and we reiterate that we hope he stays around.

Our predictions are here, though of course this may render them somewhat out of date.

1. They seriously need to rebuild
They're holding onto an old cast...they should just rebuild everything from scratch like they've done in the past.

2. I'll just wait for all the ...
"SNL hasn't been funny since the first season" posts.

5. god bless you for that
that man was such a genius, his potential was unlimited. I didn't believe it for several days when I heard about his death, I thought it was just a rumor and the truth would come out eventually. There is no one in my book on that show that was more talented than him, ever. And Jan Hooks was the female version of him, too, I hated when she left because she could impersonate tv buffoons like Barbara Walters like none other, which was the initial intent of SNL to lampoon television, anyway.

4. It's time for Parnell to go
He's been there way too long.

Forte had a really brilliant start to his SNL career, but he's gone downhill ever since. Still, I wouldn't mind seeing him stick.

Sanz is one of the least funny people to ever appear on the show, IMO.

6. Who cares, they haven't been funny in ages.
There have been some funny cast members, like Will Farrell and a few others, but the entire cast has not been funny since the days Dana Carvey, Mike Meyers, Phil Hartman, etc., were on it.

No cast will ever be as good as the original, either with Chevy or with Murray.

7. Sanz is bad enough to make me yearn for the Charles Rocket years.
Forte and Parnell I like, though. And I can't believe they'd cut Parnell loose after he delivered their most wildly popular sketch in years with "Lazy Sunday."

10. I like to call Horatio Sanz...
...one of the luckiest people in the world.

How could such a minimally talented and unfunny person EVER get a gig on national television for, what, 6 years?

Once he leaves SNL, we will probably see him in commercials for awhile. Maybe he can do sketch work on "Mind of Mecia" where it doesn't matter if you laugh at yourself throughout the sketch. His departure is one of the best moves that Lorne has made in years.
