some nice input from my doc today - my doc, whom i love, good news or bad
she actually wrote it down for me

here is what it says:

"Great Job Kim! A+++ :) Keep up the good work!!! -sig"

:woohoo: On June 9, she told me "lose weight or die." On July 27 she told me I have diabetes.

Since June 9 I have lost nearly 20 pounds. (19.5)

That's 20 pounds in two months and two weeks.

I ROCK.

7. How 'bout we compromise:
Diet IBC Root Beer. I had to have Mrs. V. taste it to make sure there wasn't a mistake at the bottlers'. I honestly can't tell that it's diet. It's delicious!

2. Great work!! And... you must be doing it smart - the RIGHT way.
About 2 lbs/week is fabulous! What's your secret?

I lost about 50 pounds a couple years ago by calorie counting. I was AMAZED at the amount of calories it said I needed to MAINTAIN the weight that I was at... so, I just really started paying attention and watching my portions and I STOPPED gorging on the sweets, but I did NOT deprive myself, I just CONTROLLED myself.

I've since let myself slip a LITTLE and have now gone back to the counting and the walking and some pilates. My sister's getting hitched this fall/winter and I want to look FABULOUS in a pretty dress! :)

NICE WORK, bertha!! :applause:

5. Counting carbs & calories. I'm finally beginning to learn how carbs
affect my four-times-daily blood tests. And how even the quality of those carbs makes a difference.

Good for you - 50 lbs!
