Any word on the guy who quit his job so he could be raptured?

Someone had a thread on it early this month, the guy qyuit so he could float up into the sky on the 6th. I'm assuming he's still here and if he's tried to get his job back.

9. Here's a funny true story

In late '99 I worked with a very religious guy who sold most of his worldly possessions, including his 'Vette, and built and stocked an elaborate bomb shelter.

He shaved his head and permanently adopted sandals and graphic t-shirts as daily attire.
By mid December, with the shelter completed, he disappeared and stopped coming to work. (I guess he didn't think of installing a phone line)

He finally showed up again the second week of January somewhat disappointed that the world somehow survived the millennium and there were no giant scorpions ravaging the planet.

He got his job back, as most of the time off was Christmas vacation, but they screwed him out of the 10 days of holiday pay.

He was finally fired the following year, but I'm sure he remains optimistic he'll get the last laugh.

I imagine Mel is hunkered down in that shelter today, eyes gazing toward the ceiling.....as he waits.
