AHHHHH!!!!! I just found a GREY HAIR!
This is the third one I've found. I naturally have very dark brown hair, but I dye it burgundy. My roots are growing out and I found a grey one. This is not cool. I'm too young for this. BTW, I get really freaked out about grey hair, because my dad's hair had turned white by 30!

1. Mine Started Going White At 12
My hair is/was blue-black so the bright white ones really stood out. At 12. First bra, first period, first white hairs ... couldn't connected, huh.

2. One grey hair is no problem
Don't worry about it.

I just noticed the hair near my temples is going grey, and I mean properly going grey. I suppose I did just turn 30 after all, but it still took me by surprise.

4. Everyone on my father's side goes grey early, so that has me concerned.
Honestly other than allegedly coming out of my mother's womb, I don't seem related to her at all. I look and act like my father.

5. Yeah, I have thick Irish hair too.
Sometimes I feel it's too thick. I need to get a haircut, it's getting out of control.

7. My hair is so damn thick
Combing it has zero effect unless it's freshly Washed and doused with chemicals to tame it.

6. I haven't seen any grey hairs yet
I do have wrinkles below my eyes though. x( I'd rather have the grey hairs; at least they can be hidden by hair color.

8. I'm starting to get slight wrinkles.
I need to start being more regular about remembering to use eye cream. I was totally freaked when I was told you should start using eye cream at 20. It makes sense though to take care of the wrinkles before they take hold.

9. I now use RevitaLift Eye at least once daily
I wish I'd known to use it as a preventative so I wouldn't have these wrinkles now (or at least not so deep). Live and learn though.

10. Back when I was in natural foods store land, I used to always go to
the corporate training seminars to sell the different body care lines, even though I was a grocery manager. Hey, management was always welcome to sign up and I got tons of free expensive products and often free dinners. Well, they all pretty much told us eye cream is something to start using at 20. I use the Borlinde Natural Beauty Eye Cream. I like it. Actually, I use a lot of their products. Their Rose Dew line is the only thing that keeps my face from being flaky in the winter without giving me acne at the same time.

11. Grey Hair Is No Biggie
I started going grey at 19. When it happened, I freaked out too. I am now 45 and about 50-50 salt and pepper which I conceal with blond streaks. Given the choice between grey hair or hair loss, I'll take the grey anytime thank you very much. I still have a full head of hair unlike every other male in my family who are as bald as cue balls.

12. I will recover from this by lunch time.
Fortunately, going bald is very unlikely, since I'm a woman with extremely thick hair.

14. I found my first one at 22.
The grays picked up momentum by 30, and to keep the patchy gray at bay, I now color my hair on a regular basis. :yoiks: Sorry you had to go through that trauma, haruka. I totally understand how you feel. I found my first one when I was in a parking lot waiting for my brother to come out of a store---I was checking my hair out in the rear view mirror, and this big wiry white hair was sticking straight up. It wasn't there the day before! :scared:

15. I found my first at 21 and I really freaked out that time.
My girlfriend at the time tried to comfort me by telling me, she had just recently started finding some grey hairs. It wasn't much consolation since she was twice my age.

Like I said, my dad had totally white hair by thirty and he started getting grey hairs when he was a teenager, but then they picked up around my age. My mom, on the other hand, apparently didn't find her first until 45. However, I'm still not entirely sure she's not secretly sleeping in a cryogenic chamber or something. Starting in 7th grade, my mom was always the mom that all my guy friends had crushes on (and it continues to this day).

16. Yeah, my mom went prematurely gray, and my dad's 75 with
not a gray hair in his head (and I know for certain he doesn't dye it). It's just not fair....

It's a bitch when you find your first gray eyebrow hair too. :P That happened to me six months ago. :( At least no OTHER hair in other locations has gone gray yet!

It was over an inch long and looked like a pube. He called me up freaking out to ask to borrow some tweezers. Funniest phone ever.

Edited on Tue Aug-22-06 08:32 AM by haruka3_2000
I've never seen anything like that hair. It just sprouted up in the middle of his eyebrow. He didn't even have bushy eyebrows or much body hair in general. But he was very concerned that if that was happening at 25, then what would be happening at 50 or 75? I think that is a very valid concern, but so far no more rouge grey pubic hairs have sprouted up in his eyebrows. I wanted a picture, but he wouldn't let me...the bastard...

27. It was purely fear driven. I hate spiders.
I approved your comment. I also had a message from someone asking me if I knew where she could buy some "pure party supplies." Since when do strangers randomly solicit other strangers for drugs on myspace. Don't these people have real life friends and contacts to buy drugs from? And more importantly, does anybody actually decide that hooking up some probably narc with "pure party supplies" is a good idea? People are idiots.

this shouldn't cause much of a lifestyle change. I know it's emotionally kind of unpsetting, like its the end of an era, but it's going to happen to all of us eventually.

As for your dad being completely grey by 30, I think that looks great.

35. hey now
I began going grey in my early twenties. Im more than half grey in my early thirties. My mom was completely grey by the time she was 35.

how secure are you with you?

Personally, I dont really care that Im grey at 33, but other people have said that it reflects my authoratiative, studious and bookworm-like style. So, I guess it fits me.

And, I dont really care. I mean, after all its just hair!

:)
