Poll question: Are people under five feet tall a separate species?
I think there's some thread in LBN on the scientific debate over how to regard small people.

1. I actually once opened a door for a short man carrying a box...
waiting for him to walk under my arm. He looked offended. Go figure.

2. I've done the same thing. Without bad reaction, fortunately,
but afterwards I thought, "Well, that was a bit strange."

6. Only about 19 at the time, and realized what I thought was a
helpful gesture as a 'person', he took as an offense in a 'man/woman' sense. It was another lesson for me in considering the feelings of others. I am often asked to retrieve top shelf items for little people in the grocery stores.

7. I was once drained to the plug by a gryphon,

13. Yup that's why I wrote about socks for one of my Bio AP essays in HS.
Fortunately, those things are on a curve, so I scored a 3, which is passing. I got college credit for writing about socks.
