5. I do. I don't have one right now, but here's two that have passed on...
This is Jaycee, our shepherd pit bull mix who came to us, as an abused rescue. Despite everything she went through, she had the best personality of any dog I've ever seen.

And Cheyenne, who was our crazy, but loveable German Shepherd.

I am so sorry .....
I don't know what I will do when its time for my babies.
We had Do-We for a year and realized she needed a friend to play with so we got Max.
I'm not sure one could survive without the other.

9. Thanks. I look forward to being able to have a dog again.
I fostered a pit bull briefly a few months ago, but I can't take on a dog long term right now.

They would probably be okay, if one lost the other. My cat Midnight was extremely attached to Jaycee and she was depressed for awhile, but she moved on. Cheyenne pretty much adopted our cat Cuddles as a kitten. She used to treat him just like a puppy, grooming & discipling him, etc. Cuddles also went through a depression, but ended up okay...aside from the fact that he thinks he's a dog.

And all other animals. How can anyone NOT love them all? Gotta be something wrong with people who don't like animals.

I have to add this, though: My cats do smile, and they let me know when someone is coming -- they growl at the door.

37. When I lived in a garden apartment, I met most of my neighbors because
of my cat Midnight. She's one of those cats that is pretty much impossible to keep indoors. She won't go really go far, but she has to sneak out. However, she also believes she owns EVERYTHING. Since it was summertime, lots of people who just keep their apartment doors propped open (it was a really safe neighborhood). Midnight would just walk into people's apartments, start checking things out, score some leftovers, maybe take a nap and then come home. The cat had more friends than me. My next door neighbor's daughter used to come over and ask to borrow Midnight to play with. It worked out fine for both me & her mom. Midnight got to play with a kid (who would also give her a good brushing) and the daughter gave up asking for her own cat because she could "borrow" a cat.

although currently I just have a dog. She not only smiles, but dances! And it's not even just when I come home, but just when I let her in when she's gone out to pee (like only 5 or 10 minutes), or start talking to her.

She gets all wiggly and tap dancing those nails on the kitchen floor, and grinnin' from ear to ear.

Yep, pets are the best.

Cats do other cool things.

A lot of people fall in love with her since we take her every where we go. I even take her to my Code Pink protest each week. And I'm surprised by the many people who had them as children, but never since. We are always asked "Doesn't she howl all the time?" She doesn't but she isn't left alone a lot either. We didn't get our first Beagle, Max, until I moved my business to our house. They do need constant attention, that's for sure.

Thanks for reading our story. :hi:

I've had dogs all my life. :D I've had all kinds of pets, including dogs, cats, hamsters, gerbils, white mice, and even a squirrel who fell out of a tree and his mother wouldn't take him back. But the strongest bonds I have had with pets have been with dogs. :D We have always adopted shelter dogs (with the exception of two purebred dogs that we were given at different times), and the two dogs we have now are wonderful shelter hounds. One is a Lab/Doberman mix, and the other is a pointer/bird dog/Jack Russell/who-knows-what-else mix.

I love doggies, too! Of course, i have cats as well. One big beast and 3 little beasties.

However, two of the cats come to the door and follow me around when i get home, just like the dog does. Part of that might be them immitating his behavior, i don't know. But, when we're in the rec room at the end of the day for "family hour" (just my wife, me, and the beasties), one of them jumps up in my lap every single day. So, they smile in their own way, too!

I don't know how to post a picture, but I have two bee-you-tee-full corgis, a red and white and a tri-color. They are so smart that sometimes they seem almost human! They are incredible dogs.

I have had lots of dogs over the years: various mixed breeds, schnauzers, a sheltie, a golden, another corgi, and a yorkie. Never had a beagle, though, but I think they are very cute.

Mainly American Pit Bull Terriers (we do rescue) with an American Bulldog and a Pit-Rottie cross (most self-important diva of a dog I've ever met, smart, needy, and stuck up!) to mix things up a little. We have a couple cats too, but we're mostly dog people. I prefer dogs to cats, though I must confess I really enjoy a purring cat, it's relaxing. Except when the purring cat is climbing all over me and trying to "love-bite" my ears, which our male lynx point Siamese is fond of doing. The dogs just lounge around and fart... :D
