Outrageous Freecycle Requests...
You know you get them. Rabrrrrrr's right. It's like some people think they have found santa's email...or Percy Ross (remember him?) I can't believe the "wants" I get. "Wants" outrank "Offers" at least 2 to one. Check out this woman.

I am a quilter and need some fabric as i have posted and got a ton of
responses which i am so greatful for. My sewing machine doesnt work
however so if anyone is willing to or has a sewing machine of good
quality I could use one. Also, I have an apartment and am looking for
either a nice wrap around couch or a couch and love seat which i would
prefer to be comfortable and not ripped. Also, I love jewelery both
old antiques and new. I would love to add some rings and necklaces and
bracelets and earings of any sorts and color to my collection.
Finally, I make necklaces, bracelets, and earings out of beads and am
always looking for beads of any sort (clay, glass, plastic, acrylic).
So, if anyone has fabric, a sewing machine, a nice couch, jewelery or
beads please email me... :eyes:

Yesterday it was a newer laptop (nothing older than two years please) For Free! And then I love the slicksters who advertise their garage sales by posting that everything is free on the side of the road Sunday afternoon (adding the dates and times of the sale itself...)

This weeks favorite is Monday: man offers pop up camper (missing canvas)... Monday aftertoon: Man posts taken. Tuesday AM: Couple posts that they need canvas for their pop up camper they just received. Now...if someone had canvas for a pop up, mightn't they have been interested in a camper to go with it in the first place???

5. Someone actually asked for that! Under the heading "Free or Dirt
Cheap Housing..." I was stunned.

2. maybe not outrageous, but kinda sad -- or . . .
. . . something is not quite right?

This from my local Freecycle today:

5. Wanted: Moving supplies
Posted by: "uknowuluv2hateme" uknowuluv2hateme@DELETED
Date: Mon Aug 21, 2006 10:26 am (PDT)

I am a single Mom with 3 children in a BAD situation and I need to move
ASAP. If anyone has any moving supplies that they are no longer using
(old boxes, tape ect.) I would really appreciate them. Also, I don't
know this area all that well and I would greatly appreciate anyone's
advice on affordable living in the area.

Thank You

We really don't get too many outrageous requests in our Freecycle. It's mostly baby & kids' clothes being offered, and baby stuff being sought.

3. I've seen them, too
I don't mind some of them, but the ones who want to freecycle furnish their entire apartments are a little much.

Some people out there ARE getting rid of things like sewing machines, washers and dryers (I see a lot of them on our list) so that's not too much to ask, but it's when they start actually qualifying what they want that I get a bit teed off.

The listings which really bum me out, though, are those who are giving away kittens or cats. My heart goes out to the animals, but there isn't any way I can take any more, and it makes me mad to see people who are not trying harder to find homes for their pets if they have to leave them behind or something.

I have gotten some nice stuff from things I've answered, and I must say that it's worth it to be on the list.

4. We were given a wonderful little kitten, and many people don't
ask much, but these ones burn me. Not just a sewing machine but a nice one. I don't know. some of them just hit me the wrong way. I love when you really help someone in need which has happened a lot.

7. freecycle has really opened my eyes as to just how many dumbfucks
there are, and how many of them have pets and shouldn't have. Asshole fuckwinders offering "We have a shitload of kittens to give away!" or "6 month old dog - we just don't like it" and just so, so, so many posts for giving away animals that are no longer cute, special, fun, or what-have-you.

Yep, the American disposable culture even applies to animals.

8. I just lost my job after getting out of prison and I need a car
so I can go look for work. Will accept anything, but really only want Mercedes 600SL or better. Also need food (organic, no additive and chemical free, preferably imported and in industrial quanitities) because my unwed mother sister just moved in with me, and we're getting evicted by the way, with four kids and a deadbeat no-show boyfriend/father, and the paint is peeling and I probably have cancer after burning my hands rescuing a puppy from a meth mill. Could also use an XBOX 360, and we need all four controls and they have to different colors and have some decent games, for the kids, who are so sad without their old nintendo since it broke after I smashed it with a Schlitz 40 ouncer.

9. ...all from a smoke free home...
Sigh. I was talking upthread about a person who actually posted "WANTED: Free or Dirt Cheap Home.." And then a television worthy sob story. It's like queen for a day somedays here. Just absolutely nuts. MrG and I are thinking of asking for a home on 10 acres? too much? Should we go lower? Like two?

10. I want to take every one of the sob-story assholes and take them out
and kill them and put them out of their misery.

Not a single one of the whining pieces of self-centered shit has ever elicited any empathy, compassion, or sense of caring in them. In fact, my reaction is always the opposite. "Oh, if I had what you were looking for I would drive it over to you, show it to you, tell you that there isn't a chance in God's green earth taht I would give it to an inventive, lying sack of irrelevant filth who clearly shows all the signs of being utterly unable to control your rutting, your drug use, your alcohol drinking, and who clearly has no ability to communicate via written word, nor, nmore than likely, with any of your former wives/husbands/boyfriends, or your children, and your whole extended family I bet has all the dysfunctional, whiny-ass, self-absorbed inability to communicate on a deep level that you have. Maybe if you showed some desire, just one small iota of wanting to join the human race and control yourself, I'd consider giving you this. But since I know you'll just fucking wreck it, like you wreck everthing you touch in your miserable, execrable, worthless life. But I do want to say thank you for taking all the shit jobs that no one with any real self-respect would take, even if you aren't capable of keeping them for more than a month or two before you are fired for being worthless and than haul your firty-clothed snot-faced disgusting children to the next shitty rental house with paint peeling from the shutters and cigarette burns all over the bathroom sink." and then drive away.

13. I just hope you grow up with better proof-reading and grammar skills.
Sheesh - that thing is a mess! I should have looked it over before posting, but I was tired.

How embarrassing. Some ugly typos in there, and some sentences that aren't even close to being sentences. Oops!
