What a sucky day

Somehow, my parents decided that I should have a dentist appointment and an eye appointment in the same day. That in itself is pretty sucky, but it gets better.

I left the dentist's with the delightful news that I'm getting a tooth pulled on Thursday. Then, it seems that I need glasses. :( Blah... I want to go to sleep.

2. I've been needing a

dental appt. for tooth extractions for over a year but didn't have any health insurance. :-(
I finally got some insurance and can now go to the dentist!

Never thought I'd say this but:

YIPPEE!!!! :rofl: (I hate going to the dentist...usually!)

4. I hate the dentist too

Not the pain, I'm just not comfortable with a person that close the my face. I guess I should be glad the tooth is going. It would not hold a filling, so I was left with the gaping hole after the filling fell out, and it's been giving me headaches. x(

Re the glasses: You'll get used to them. They suck majorly, but you do get used to them. If you can get contacts someday, even better.

5. I'm only going to need them for distance

Computer and reading's still fine without them, but I'm on the borderline for needing glasses to drive, so better safe than sorry. Still, at 19 it's a big change.

8. I have issues with distance, too.

I wore my glasses constantly, though, since I disliked having to squint so often. In a way, I wish I only needed glasses for reading--perhaps then I wouldn't have needed to wear them constantly.

Regardless, I now have contacts.

Hopefully you'll have as great a dentist as mine. I had to have a tooth pulled a couple of months back, and I didn't feel a thing!

11. That sucks

I would go to a different dentist and get a second opinion.

A dentist in 1995 told me I had a cavity that needed filling ASAP.

A dentist the next time I saw a dentist in 1998 told me he couldn't find a thing on that tooth.

Go figure.

13. Oh, I figured it would have to come out eventually

There's a massive hole that just can't seem to hold a filling. I've been getting headaches from it recently

12. I got my upper wisdom teeth extracted last Thursday. I feel for ya, babe.

My jaw STILL hurts and right now I've got a heachache from HELL.

On the flip side, however, I had LASIK surgery over 6 yrs ago and it was sooooo worth it. Best money I ever spent. 30 ys of wearing glasses and contacts, gone in less than 1 minute. Amazing.

Hang in there. Hope you get a good night's sleep. That's what I need, too. This'll pass....everything changes.

14. get a second opinion

dentists are having a rough time of it this time of century, they are pretty much inventing stuff to do

same w. glasses, uh dude, you would know if you needed glasses -- for poster who suggested LASIK for me too LASIK is the best thing i ever did for myself but at 19, he is too young for LASIK, eyes won't stabilize until after college, assuming he actually is near-sighted which sounds pretty doubtful from the description

everybody has to squnt once in awhile even if they're 20/20
