2. Not many, just a few old Bob Dylan albums.
But for CDs I burn myself, there's an insane amount.

Oh, and Patti Smith's 'Horses'. That's a classic. A+

I used to do P2P (stopped since, but I spend so much that I don't feel guilty I still have them.) I also have quite a few from my backups of albums I purchased on iTunes. :hi:

Whenever my friends drop over, if there is no music playing, the first thing they ask is "Why is there no music?"

I'm constantly listening.

17. Same here
In my free time, there's nothing that comes close to the time I spend listening. I couldn't have done my list without notepad - I update my text file right after I listen to a new CD. If I feel confident of the grade, I'll also add the grade at that time.

See you on the boards later - time for bed. :hi:

11. I must confess that I do not actively listen to any music anymore.
When I was a kid and in my 20s I used to buy and collect and listen to albums. I am 54 and I cannot relate to any of the new music and will listen to oldies music in my car. In the house I will listen to talk radio on NPR. I have songs downloaded onto my computer and will occasionally listen while I am surfing, but I honestly have to say that I just don't care anymore.

18. I kinda lost touch with current music for awhile too-
and I guess I'm dating myself by sharing this, but... I now listen to VH1's 'Fresh' program and their 'Top 20 Countdown' program, and have discovered a whole lot of current music that I really like. And I'm sorry that there's probably a whole lot more out there that I missed out on too-

25. I'd say get both if you can find them cheap
The thing about Muse is - (and as much as I hate to use the Radiohead comparison, but I think it's the most fitting) - they're like Radiohead in that all of their albums are DRASTICALLY different from each other - listen to their earlier stuff like Origin Of Symmetry and Showbiz, then try to compare it with the current albums. Black Holes And Revelations is probably their most accessible, but personally, I think Absolution is their best.

27. Do DJ mixes count?
if so, then somewhere about 300+

if not then i have no idea. i don't listen to a lot of stuff where they put out full albums. I'd say about 50 that have been released this year. but if you include stuff from previous years, well, way over 100. I don't skip through albums.

28. A few more additions from this year
Lillix - Inside The Hollow A/A+ (I'm sure it will make my top 20 of the year)
Pete Yorn - Nightcrawler A/A+
Bob Dylan - Modern Times A- (I'll catch flak in places for not giving this one a perfect rating, but I thought Love And Theft had more energy and suited his vocals more. Still, there are many powerful moments.)
Jessica Simpson - A Public Affair C- (The best song, "B.O.Y.," even has a riff that rips off the Cars' "Just What I Needed." There's also a 60s influenced ballad, "Between You And I," that is a nice moment, but the rest is pretty bad.)
The Lost Trailers - self-titled D (Now they really do sound like the stereotype of mainstream country being an Eagles ripoff. I don't agree with the stereotype, but I can see it here.)

I will not be adding to this thread again, but might revisit the thread later in the year.
